Job Summary
8 Hearts Health & Wellness is an integrative Medical Clinic located in southwest Portland within the Tigard Triangle. We offer a wide range of services including: GI-focused Naturopathic Medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Heidelberg pH Testing, SIBO Breath Testing, Hormone management, and Structural Integration.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Front Office Assistant (with potential for advancement) with a positive personality and the ability to work in an often fast-paced environment. The capacity to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure while contributing to overall patient care is essential. The Front Office Assistant will work alongside and assist the Front Office Coordinator.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide professional service to all 8 Hearts clients and support to 8 Hearts practitioners
- Ensure all clients are warmly greeted and welcomed to the clinic
- Keep Front Office and waiting room clean and well-organized for our clients
- Answer all phone calls and follow up on emails and voicemails in a timely manner
- Clearly communicate and explain the various services provided at 8 Hearts in a manner that generates interest and leads to scheduling with an 8 Hearts practitioner
- Assist practitioners in the checkout process: scheduling appointments, coordinating lab information, dispensing appropriate supplements, and taking payment for insurance or cash pay
- Order and co-manage inventory levels and patient supplement needs
- Support the overall vision and mission of 8 Hearts in all aspects of the position
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working in a Naturopathic medical office preferred, or comparable medical environment
- Knowledge and interest in Naturopathic modalities and other services provided by 8 Hearts
- Understanding of basic medical terminology, including: conditions, diagnoses, HIPPA, labs, and supplements
- Ability to interpret and understand insurance medical plans and benefits
- Ability to quickly problem-solve and offer the best solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient knowledge of medical office technology including: Electronic Health Records, eFax, scanning, and Microsoft Office.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
