K&A Engineering is a privately held, providing comprehensive consulting, engineering and design, program/project management, construction management, and support services to power utility and industrial clients. Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking Project Managers to join our Transmission Mega Projects Team in Buffalo, New York.

• Effective leadership in a matrix organization.
• Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects — defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing to the risks, scope, schedule and budget
• Managing Teams — facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and managing teams
• Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Process and procedures on all projects focusing on meeting SPI and CPI performance indicators less than 1.0
• Management of third-party projects including other transmission owners and interconnecting customers
• Accountable and Responsible for:

• Communication Management
• Change Management
• Schedule Management
• Construction Management Oversight
• Commissioning Management Oversight
• Risk Management
• Regulatory and Stakeholder Management

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred
• 7+ years relevant project management experience in electric utility projects is required
• Relevant experience in substation, transmission, or distribution.
• Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools.
• General understanding of utility operations
• Experience with Article VII is preferred
• Experience with Transmission Projects, Greenfields & Brownfields
• Experience managing large capital projects
• Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Must be a New York resident or able to relocate to Upstate New York for this role
