Do you want to help write the next chapter of our story? We are looking for a Temporary Designer, Open Sell & Visual Merchandising located in New York City, New York.
*40 hours per week, M-F. Hybrid schedule.
The role:
You will be responsible for executing seasonal and permanent Visual Merchandising collaterals for all retailers, with a primary focus on Open Sell. Collaborating closely within the team as well as with Merchandising, Marketing and Sales, this role will create brand communication assets – from shelf strips to in-store visuals, adapting design direction based on 360 marketing strategy and global guidelines. Knowledge of beauty retailers, especially Open Sell (ULTA, Sephora) is a must, focusing on skincare and makeup.
The candidate must be able to present and communicate work in a digital format and/or physical mockup with all stakeholders as well as pay great attention to design/copy detail and address feedback accurately. Ability to set timelines and organize priorities is key as the department deals with multiple projects with tight deadlines on an ongoing basis. This role reports to Design Lead, Creative Services.
What you’ll do:
In an environment where things change often and quickly, be part of a team that brings the brand message to life in-store, through merchandising and marketing collateral.
- Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to.
- Communicate brand values effectively and with relevancy.
- Produce all seasonal assets for Open Sell scenarios, from pricing (shelf strips) to visual updates.
- Create impactful launch and event collateral, collaborating with global and US teams on asset development with consistency across all retailers.
- Work with Design, Merchandising, Project Managers, and Purchasing on establishing and communicating timelines.

You have:
- BFA or BA in Design related field
- 5 years of Visual Merchandising design experience in the beauty industry, preferably Open Sell (Sephora and ULTA)
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Excel, Word and PowerPoint on Mac OS platform.
- Technical skills and knowledge of print production such as fonts, retouching, pre-press, proofing.
- 2D design skills with an ability to think in the 3D space.
- Ability to read and review engineering drawings.
- Expertise with retailer guidelines, restrictions, and timelines.
- Knowledge of industry trends.
- Knowledge of digital.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, consistency in design and execution.
- High competency in managing numerous projects independently/collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment with minimum supervision and agility to adapt to constant shifts in priorities and deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
- Negotiation skills to enforce brand guidelines across all touchpoints.

Salary Range: $50 - $85/per hour.
