Program & Event Coordinator

Houston, TX/ Full-time

Your responsibilities



The Program and Event Coordinator is primarily responsible for the planning, managing, and executing programs/events for sales across the Experience & Design Centers. This role assists the Manager, Showroom in maintaining the calendar of programs/events at the EDCs. Specific focus will be developing and updating event websites, as well as launching and maintaining event websites. Coordination by event with hotels and travel agent, sending communications, maintaining records of all programs, and following/developing standard operating practices.



  • Makes decisions for the planning, management, and execution of national-level programs, events, and meetings (e.g., builders, dealers, and professional trade organizations) at local EDC

  • Onsite contact for execution of programs/events at local EDC, hosting and interacting with guests

  • Collaborates with Mgr, EDC and Admin/Purchasing on selection of program vendors

  • Builds and maintains relationships with current vendors and researches opportunities based on program needs

  • Coordinates in-person program/event websites and communications (coordinates for EDCs across time zones)
  • When applicable for program, includes oversight of
  • Air travel
  • Hotel rooming list
  • Transportation at local EDC
  • Restaurants/entertainment at local EDC
  • Event supplies at local EDC

  • Primary contact for event development, program coordination; develops and sends communications for program/events

  • May include communications outside of regular business hours (i.e., early morning or late night)

  • Documents and maintains standard operating practices (SOPs) for program/event management and execution

  • Updates SOPs, at minimum annually, or as business needs change

  • Trains staff (employees and temporary staff) on SOPs (may include training for multiple showrooms)
  • Schedules front of house temporary staff, when needed
  • Sets and communicates daily priorities to temporary staff at local EDC

  • Surveys attendees
  • Develops reports with survey responses, at a minimum monthly, or as requested

  • Assists the Mgr, EDCs with:
  • Improve program and guest experience through design, communications, and reporting
  • Maintaining the calendar of programs/events
  • Developing/updating program resources (e.g., links, QR codes etc)
  • Coordination of vendors, contractors; Communicates with Admins quotes
  • Record-keeping
  • Budget reporting
  • Tracking of data and reporting

  • May be asked to create event websites/invitations for special events outside of EDCs

  • Responds with flexibility and urgency to shifting priorities

  • Executes positive guest experiences for all programs

  • Interfaces with (all levels of management to include) regional managers, directors, VPs and Operating Committee to provide programming and value-added service to support their customers

  • Supports consumer, designer, builder, appointments, walk-ins, and training guests, when needed

  • Attends training on the latest product offerings by brand based, about once a year

  • Participates in consumer outreach utilizing CRM software; builds and maintains relationships with dealers

  • Acts as an initial contact for all showroom visitors

  • Some travel to programs and events

  • Other special projects and duties as assigned


Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree – Required
  • Certification (Cvent) – Required
  • 3-5 Years of Experience (event coordination, hospitality) – Required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills and aptitude to learn applications, as needed
  • Excellent organizational and budget management skills
  • Excellent event planning skills and ability to manage vendors
  • Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others
  • Strong stand-up presentation & training skills
  • Influencer experience (background in kitchen design, architecture, building fields) preferred
  • Team player and the ability to work with others
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and close attention to detail

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
