GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the SSS - Stud Supp Svcs department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
As an Academic Success Coach for Online Students, you will be responsible for providing instructional technology support, answering their questions, and connecting them to academic resources. You will also be monitoring their persistence prediction scores through Civitas(R), which is the College's predictive analytics tool. Additionally, you will collaborate with online faculty to communicate with students and assist those who are having any issues.
Academic Success Coach: Provide guidance and intervention that support a diverse population of students, create and implement strategies to help high-risk students succeed in their courses and programs (academic success plans), utilize student tracking software (CIVITAS Inspire)) when working with students. Conduct coaching sessions using a variety of methods, including face-to-face and virtual. Monitor students' progress with check-ins, regularly scheduled appointments, and proactive outreach (phone/email) to ensure students' questions, concerns, and needs are met. Conduct self-assessment with students upon initial visit to identify barriers to Student Success and assist students with creating goals to overcome barriers. Ensure session notes are correctly and accurately documented under the student's account in inspire. As needed, refer students to the appropriate academic and support services to further assist the student with overcoming barriers to success. Maintain knowledge and follow FERPA guidelines during academic coaching sessions.
Programming: Create coordinate and facilitate academic coaching programming, including but not limited to workshops, Instagram video quick tips, coaching groups, and more.
Promotion & Outreach: Maintain a broad understanding of trends in higher education and academic coaching programs locally and nationally. Engage with professional associations affiliated with academic coaching programs. Promote academic Coaching and tutoring through college-wide events, class presentations, and departmental initiatives. Create advertisements to promote the use of academic coaching and programming (workshops/groups).
Coaching follow-up: Ensure session notes are correctly and accurately documented under the student's account in Inspire. Monitor students' progress with check-ins, regularly scheduled appointments, and proactive outreach (Phone/Email) to ensure students' questions, concerns, and needs are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree with at least 2+ years relevant experience or Masters degree with two years of relevant experience.
