The Spectrum Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Manager to implement assigned areas of responsibility within Clemson University's Spectrum Program. The Coordinator will collaborate in developing and delivering a comprehensive program that fosters support for students to help them transition to, through, and beyond their Clemson experience. Performs other duties as assigned. To best serve the needs of program students, this position will require regular evening and weekend hours.
JOB DUTIES:55% - Essential - Student Services: Meets regularly with program students. Plans and implements program activities, especially program social events and educational activities. Provides other direct services to Spectrum Program students, as needed, in individual and group capacities, including: personal and academic advising, coaching, counseling, formative assessments, workshops, group meetings, social outings, supervised study hall, and other services as determined. Serves as contact for the parents and faculty of students participating in the program.
15% - Essential - Program Development: Participates in the ongoing development of the program based on updated information and assessment and reporting rubrics that demonstrate the impact and effects of the program. Contributes to the development of policies, protocols, and program content and assists with evaluation and strategic planning for program evolution.
15% - Essential - Program Admissions and Outreach: Serves on the committee which reviews and selects candidates for program participation and provides information to prospective students and parents, uses a comprehensive interview assessment measure to determine campus readiness and goodness of fit, conducts in-person interviews with prospective students and parents, markets and promotes program on campus and within the community both formally and informally, and promptly responds to inquiries regarding the program.
15% - Essential - Collaboration: Partners with campus and community entities to develop and share resources and establish partnerships that connect and supports Spectrum Program students, including: Career Services, the Clemson Center for Behavior Analysis, the Recreational Therapy program, the Academic Success Center, Creative Inquiry, SC Vocational Rehabilitation, SC ABLE, and others as designated. Provides education to campus and community entities regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Relevant program experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Education - Master's Degree - Disability Studies, School Psychology, Rehabilitative Counseling, Special Education, Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
Work Experience - Advanced academic experience such as masters-level internships, or 2+ years of similar work.
