About Our Agency:
South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Fundraising Producer creates innovative and compelling interstitials that support the overall mission and vision of SCETV as part of the Fundraising Department. This position is responsible for casting and booking talent, scripting, and editing TV, radio, and social media pledge spots, developing closed captioning, and serving as the production workflow liaison across departments for SCETV and SC Public Radio fundraising activities. This position serves as the primary producer/editor of broadcast on-air spots for ETV-HD, the South Carolina Channel, ETV World, and SC Public Radio. This position also serves as the primary producer/editor of online spots that may appear on social media platforms as well as ETV/PBS websites. Additionally, this position works with the Underwriting team to edit and shoot footage for client spots as needed, serving as the primary editing contact. For production, the Fundraising producer identifies b-roll and music for local pledge breaks and assists in studio and off-site productions. The position serves as a contact for ETV Endowment donor questions and requests and assists the department director on other tasks, special events, and campaigns, as assigned. During live pledge shifts, the Fundraising Producer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the pledge event is successful and that on-air talent has the information they need to confidently ask for donations to the ETV Endowment. This includes but is not limited to scripting, rehearsals, providing real-time feedback, and pivoting messaging quickly as needed.
JOB DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Director, executes SCETV fundraising and underwriting production-related duties for multi-platform campaigns: to include scheduling talent, scriptwriting/editing of fundraising spots and develops closed captioning and media file ingestion. Serve as point person across departments to shepherd workflow and ensure on-time delivery of content for broadcast and online platforms. Ensure that production-related requirements are in place to assist with studio production during pre-recorded sessions and live pledge, as required. Serve as teleprompter operator in studio, when required.
Under the supervision of the Director, manage SC Public Radio fundraising production-related duties for multi-platform campaigns: to include scripting spots, scheduling talent recordings, editing fundraising spots, music file selection, serving as liaison with SC Public Radio staff to shepherd workflow for spot ingestion and effective scheduling during campaigns. Serve as point person across departments to establish on-time delivery of all SC Public Radio campaign elements. Assist in the studio during live radio pledge drives to provide information and feedback to on-air talent, assisting with booking talent as needed.
In consultation with the Director, plans production of additional content elements for TV and radio Fundraising spots: to include sourcing and editing of image, MemberCard, SCETV Passport and social media spots. Serve as liaison with other editing staff. With training, assist the Director with producing responsibilities.
Perform duties in a timely fashion to deliver pledge data collection and the work of other team members. Collaborate with team members to organize and update tracking systems for Fundraising spots, serving as the primary contact for the Fundraising spot tracking database. Stay abreast of fundraising industry best practices through self-directed training/webinars to increase knowledge and expertise. Regularly listen to/watch SCETV and SC Public Radio content, including NPR and PBS shows, to become more familiar with the content available to the audience and donors.
Assist Director and department on additional tasks, as assigned, including but not limited to receiving and directing telephone calls, greeting guests, handling emails and correspondence for the department, customer service to donors, and assisting with SCETV, SC Public Radio and ETV Endowment special events throughout the year, when required.
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
