Job Overview:
The Program Coordinator (PC) supports the Adolescents and Young Adults EliminatingSTD Stigma (AYAESS) program under the Philadelphia Area Sexual Health Initiative (PASHI) . The PC will have extensive experience working with Black LGBTQ+ populations in Philadelphia and will have experience helping to address health disparities within this population. The PC will coordinate all day-to-day project activities including helping to build the project Community Advisory Board (CAB), preparing them for their role on the project, running CAB meetings, facilitating brainstorming sessions to help CAB design interventions, and participate in Coalition meetings. The PC will help develop project marketing and promotional materials, engage in outreach activities along with project outreach workers and take a lead in helping disseminate CAB-designed interventions. The PC will assist with the completing of funder required reports as needed. The PC will report to the Program Manager. This position will have both internal project coordination responsibilities, as well as outward-facing responsibilities. As such, this position requires strong project and timeline management skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. Some evening or weekend work required.
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate program activities, including supporting the Program Manager and direct supervision of staff and staff activities.
  • Engage in outreach activities where Black LGBTQ+ people ages 15 to 24 hang out to promote AYAESS.
  • Build project Community Advisory Board (CAB), including developing application, interview and onboarding process.
  • Support the infrastructure of the CAB and facilitate monthly CAB meetings.
  • Support delivery of training and CAB-designed interventions, including serving as primary point of contact for CAB members.
  • Support the delivery of Community Health Needs Assessment, including working closely with project evaluation team on implementation.
  • Implement Learning Academy to increase CAB knowledge and skills related to public health practice, SDOH and STDs.
  • Support the Director in identifying key multi-sector partners to participate in the Black LGBTQ+ Sexual Health Resilience Coalition and support the delivery of coalition meetings.
  • Support the development and implementation of interventions intended to improve delivery of STD education, prevention, and treatment for Black LGBTQ+ persons ages 15 to 24.
  • Support the development and implementation of communication materials and messaging to promote AYAESS, as well as raise awareness of STD/HIV/SDOH disparities.
  • Attend program meetings with funders.
  • Serve as liaison between community contacts and partners and Project management team, providing updates on an ongoing basis in written and verbal formats.
  • Supervise Outreach Worker staff to develop recruitment and referral strategies and assist Program Manager with development of plan to meet targets.
  • Coordinate outreach endeavors including social media activities with the Outreach and Recruitment Manager.
  • Support a comprehensive marketing plan, with a focus on social media.
  • Develop and manage with data tracking and collection.
  • Complete and submit quarterly, monthly and various reports to funders and PASHI
  • Give presentations on the program, as requested.

Administrative Activities
  • Provide support to Program Manager and Director when new approaches to improve program delivery, content, and/or evaluation are implemented.
  • Develops an outreach network of organizational contacts.
  • Support Program Manager with supervision, mentoring, training, and orientation activities for staff.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion.
  • Communicate with Program Manager, Director and project team regarding opportunities and plan for follow-up.
  • Document program activities in accordance with direction/protocol to support strong project data collection and/or publication opportunities.
  • Support Director and Program Manager with contractual and grant-funded projects obligations to ensure overall goals and objectives are met, including drafting/writing project reports.
  • Convene and facilitate weekly team meetings, with support of the Program Manager.
  • Communicate formally on a bi-weekly or weekly basis with Program Manager.
  • Attend local and regional meetings and trainings, as needed.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to deliver effective education, health promotion and community health services
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite and various web-based platforms with an ability to learn new software, as needed
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health
  • Must clear child abuse, criminal history check and FBI clearance
  • Must travel in Philadelphia
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to meet objectives with minimal supervision
  • Ability to independently lead a small team
  • Ability to acquire information about new systems, organizations and practices
  • Motivational interviewing techniques
  • Ability to skillfully navigate social media platforms
  • Must have ability to work outside "normal business hours"; evenings and weekends are required.

Experience:
  • Experience successfully coordinating community events with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in data collection/entry
  • At least three years experience working with LGBTQ+ populations.
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Community Advisory Board experience a plus

Education Requirement:
Required: Bachelor's degree
