The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide. Sunrise accomplishes this through the creation and oversight of welcoming, inclusive summer day camps, year-round programs, and in-hospital recreational activities, all offered free of charge. Sunrise Association is a not-for-profit 510(c)(3) organization.
Job Summary
Sunrise on Wheels is a fun and exciting hospital outreach program that engages children with cancer in pediatric playrooms, chemotherapy units, and in-patient areas through toys, games, crafts, and fun. The Program Coordinator will oversee the program and volunteers while working with hospital staff and the Sunrise Association.
Responsibilities
· Engage/play with children of all ages in a hospital environment.
· Create and oversee a volunteer team.
· Communicate with hospital staff (Child Life Specialists).
· Make sure the play area is safe for all participating in the program.
· Assess the quality of toys, games, and supplies used in the program.
· Ensure HIPAA guidelines (privacy of patients) are being followed.
· Hand in a written summary of each session to your supervisor.
Qualifications
We are looking for an energetic, caring individual who wants to be part of a dynamic group whose shared vision is to bring smiles and a feeling of normalcy to children with cancer and their siblings. Minimum qualifications are as follows:
· 18+ years of age.
· Prior experience working with children is a MUST.
· Able to work independently and collaboratively.
· Well organized.
· Strong communication skills.
· Able to hire and supervise volunteers.
· Able to work with children of all ages.
· Feel comfortable in a hospital environment.
· Able to commit for the long term with consistency.
· Must be up to date on all vaccines, including Covid-19 boosters.
· Must be able to travel to both locations listed every Wednesday between 9 am and 1 pm.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 6 per week
