Job SummaryThis position is responsible for advising and providing logistical support for short-term study away: GO Short and GO Your Way (including GO Projects Together) students and program directors. This position coordinates the application process and assists with logistical planning for short-term study away programs. Reporting to the Director of Global Opportunities (GO), the GO Programs Coordinator works closely with students, parents, faculty, staff, and third-party providers.
Specific Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough knowledge of study away options and keep regular advising hours, primary advisor for short-term summer/winter break programs. This position will have a minimum of 20 hours of advising each week.
- Use strength-based advising to advise students on all matters associated with study away including program selection, application and approval processes, financial obligations, scholarship opportunities, and situations that arise during study away programs. Collaborate with campus partners to adapt advising to meet students’ needs.
- Work effectively in Terra Dotta Software. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of GO Short and GO Your Way program information within Terra Dotta, maintains student records and reports, and stays informed of Terra Dotta system changes and updates.
- Management of applications including recruitment, processing, and other logistical support. Assist faculty in navigating the GO application lifecycle and approvals. Provide reports as needed.
- Assist the Director of GO in the preparation for GO Short programs and training for program directors.
- Coordination of GO Your Way (includes GO Projects Together) program. Process and track applicant completion, facilitate GOYW budget accuracy and produce reports as needed.
- Serve as part of the on-call crisis response team during summer/winter travel times, as required. This could include up to 75% of on-call schedule.
- Provide training and co-supervise a team of student employees including managing the job lifecycle, onboarding and ongoing training.
- Responsible for the promotion and recruitment of GO programs including facilitating information sessions and classroom visits.
- Work closely with other SU administrative offices to support functions related to study away; includes Student Financial Services, Registrar, Finance, Center for Academic Success and others
EducationBachelor’s degree required.ExperienceInternational experience living, studying or working abroad and/or in different cultural contexts.

- Ability to work with students at varying levels of familiarity and comfort with study away.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work proactively, independently, and simultaneously on a wide variety of tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty
- Knowledge of making travel logistics.
- Must demonstrate the highest level of accuracy and clarity in communication and execution of plans.
- Knowledge of English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
- The ability to manage and process a high volume of detailed information with frequent interruptions is required.
- The position requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle frustrating or emotional interactions.
- Demonstrated intercultural ability.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- General knowledge of international education / education abroad is preferred.
Physical DemandPosition requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Position requires the ability to move about the campus. Position requires the ability to talk and to hear instruction. Position requires occasional manual dexterity and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, and reach. Position requires occasional stooping, crouching and bending. Position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Working conditions are indoors.Preferred Qualifications:
ExperienceExperience working in an international office is preferred. Experience with Terra Dotta or other online data management systems is preferred.
