Position Overview:
- As our Activity Assistant, you'll play a key role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents by planning and organizing a variety of activities.
- From arts and crafts to outings and game nights, you'll have the chance to infuse fun and excitement into their routines.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Activity Director in planning and executing a variety of engaging activities, events, and outings for residents. This may include games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, educational sessions, and more.
- Assist in coordinating outings and special events, ensuring a lively and inclusive atmosphere.
- Occasionally serve as a driver for outings, ensuring the safe and enjoyable transportation of residents.
- Assist residents with mobility or other needs during outings or activities, providing support as required.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their interests and preferences.
- Encourage resident participation and create a positive and inclusive activity environment.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and inviting activity space.
- Coordinate with the Activity Director and other staff to ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment for activities and outings are prepared and available.
- Engage actively with residents, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere during activities and outings to encourage participation and social interaction.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after events, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with seniors and creating enjoyable experiences.
- Valid License and Clean driving record.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for planning and implementing a variety of activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt activities to cater to diverse interests and mobility levels.
- Previous experience in a similar role or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality.
