Production Manager
The Production Manager's position responsibilities include initiating, planning, executing, and controlling product packaging projects to deliver departmental strategic objectives.
The Production Manager will also participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, structural design optimization and cost out programs.
Major tasks in this role include program/project management, strategic sourcing, supplier qualification and management, developing resource planning and budgeting, and oversight of staff. As a subject matter expert in packaging/production, this position will also require to support daily business transactions to resolve packaging deficiencies, supplier quality issues, or sourcing cost-out.
The Production Manager will be responsible for complex projects with higher risks and business implications.
Job Description:
- Provide and maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage daily functions performed by location operational and administrative personnel. Includes the organization, delegation, and time management of workloads that coincide with corporate objectives.
- Have the ability to promote a team environment that promotes open communication, the sharing of ideas, and balanced workloads. Promote the cross-training of personnel performing critical functions where possible.
- Manage production assets to include facility, and repair as prescribed.
- Manage inventory functions to include purchase order generation, intra-company transfer generation, repackaging, reconciliation, optimum stocking levels, and month-end inventory closing activities as established.
- Document and communicate issues to appropriate personnel as established.
- Assure the facility complies with standards established by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assure facility personnel are knowledgeable and trained to comply with policies, procedures, and regulations established by Taylor Enterprises, Taylor’s suppliers, Taylor’s customers, the Department of Transportation, or other governing entities that affect Taylor’s ability to do business.
- Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism through appearance, mannerisms, attention to customer needs, maintaining customer inventory levels as required, and representing Taylor Enterprises in a positive fashion at all times.
- Train team members specific to their job duties.
