Job description

DIRECTV is looking for a seasoned Lead Product Development Manager to own the delivery of product roadmap features, enhancements, and project management. This experienced professional will support development efforts to maintain and enhance our Gemini and Gemini Air set-top box DIRECTV application across the portfolio. This role will drive product strategy, design, development, compliance, and execution.

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Ownership and authoring of detailed business stories and acceptance criteria for the Gemini and Gemini Air set-top box DIRECTV application, which includes but is not limited to clear and granularly defined user stories, fully fleshed out acceptance criteria for development and quality purposes, linked design specifications when applicable, accessibility requirements to meet ADA standards, and non-functional requirements related to performance and reporting.
  • Ownership of hosting and leading continuous refinement sessions with product and development teams to confirm full understanding of features being developed.
  • Ownership of feature and capability prioritization for Gemini and Gemini Air set-top box DIRECTV application, with respect to overall program priorities.
  • Participation in quarterly planning sessions, which includes but is not limited to preparing development teams for 6 sprint cycles based on program priorities and team capacities, establishing and socializing development dependencies, authoring team and project-based goals and objectives based on committed development plans, enabling teams to achieve committed goals, and socialize broadly if goals become a risk.
  • Ownership execution of development team sprint commitments, while alerting program and epic leads when commitments are at risk.
  • Gemini and Gemini Air DIRECTV application performance monitoring, includes but is not limited to daily platform KPI monitoring, socialization when KPIs are at risk and need to be improved, proactive collaboration with performance teams to identify areas of improvement, and scheduling of performance improvements to drive enhancements.
  • Attend weekly triaging sessions with quality groups to determine priority and severity of newly raised issues and determine when issues need to be scheduled in the teams’ backlog for resolution.
  • Release management and socialization, includes but is not limited to collaborating with development leads and release management groups to author release notes, provide product approval for releases, socialize major changes across the organization, and establish an overall release cadence in support of continuous market improvements and feature releases.
  • Monitor customer feedback from social media and app store reviews to proactively identify themes and areas of improvement based on social feedback, create bugs for reproducible issues as needed, and collaborate with development leads to determine if issues are platform based or within the common code base.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, marketing, and quality in the development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related field, preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a dynamic product management role.
  • Proven success in overseeing all elements of the Product Development lifecycle.
  • High effectiveness in managing client development teams.
  • Experience in delivering finely tuned Product Development strategies.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $116,375 - $211,255

Low (N1): $116,375 - $174,515

Mid (N2): $122,500 - $183,700

High (N3): $134,750 - $202,070

Top (N4): $140,875 - $211,255
