The Production Engineering Weld Technician will work on designing, fabricating, assembling and testing carts, dollies, fixtures, jigs, stands, tools, and prototype parts. We are looking for a strong work ethic and a reliable go-getter. We need a decision maker who likes to be challenged, and can always be counted on to exercise sound judgement.
What we are looking for:
- Excellent MIG welding skills (weld certificate preferred). Applicants must pass weld test.
- In-depth metalworking knowledge and understanding of basic engineering principals.
- Ability to read and understand weldment and assembly drawings and design schematics.
- Assembly experience using a variety of hand tools (powered and non-powered).
- Familiarity with machining processes.
- Experience using measurement instruments such as micrometers or Vernier calipers.
- Problem solving, analytical, researching and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time with limited guidance.
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in accordance with company safety policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
- Authorized to work in the United States
What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with engineers on manufacturing needs and possible solutions, and exchange technical information
- Order and mange project materials
- Execute on metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, material properties and mathematics
- Measure, examine, and test parts or overall projects to ensure conformance to specifications or check for defects
- Production part reworking
- Tracking and basic documentation (time and pictures)
- Additional duties as assigned
