LyondellBasell's Global Procurement group facilitates supply solutions globally for LyondellBasell. We manage supplier relationships in order to provide value to our internal customers in the acquisition of materials, services, and utilities. As the procurement 'boots on the ground' in the sites, the Procurement Specialist will serve as "procurement ambassador" or "one stop shop" for internal customers, helping to ensure different parts of the procurement value chain (category, ESS, AP) are appropriately leveraged to meet client needs. As "value-creator" the role will have focus of advancing competitiveness from rapid sourcing, rapid renegotiation as well as contract and T&C negotiation to meet the assigned cost savings objectives. Furthermore the Procurement Specialist will serve as "connector" between commodity strategy/categories, stakeholders and transactional arm of procurement, to ensure common understanding to minimize spend leakage
Roles & Responsibilities

• Execute defined commodity/segment sourcing strategies for assigned sites, eg. RFP / tender / "Rapid Sourcing"
• Support collection of supplier performance feedback from stakeholders at assigned sites
• Manage LYB relationship with local / regional suppliers, incl negotiation of T&Cs, rates etc
• Support as required/appropriate the implementation of category Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategies with local/regional supplier affiliates/entities
• Identify and/or champion continuous improvement initiatives that deliver efficiency gains
• Execute a robust stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring early procurement involvement
• Train stakeholders on procurement processes and initiatives
• Act as direct procurement contact and field based-liaison for assigned sites, including for urgent orders, emergencies, ESS or Category escalation, on-site support and follow-up for procurement initiatives etc
• Review 3-6mth Maintenance lookahead to identify opportunities for value creation and communicate requirements timely
• Provide feedback, site intel & inputs to support development of fit-for-purpose commodity strategies
• Review (in conjunction with Regional sourcing) commodity strategies to (i) identify gaps / non-strategic spend (ii) define action plan to close gaps / deviations (iii) communicate actions and track execution
• Provide on-call / after-hours buying coverage for NA sites per on-call roster
• Issue POs from approved PRs per procedures and support assigned PRs/POs through the Source-to-Pay value chain
• Monitor/track KPIs with ESS for buyer / site default queues; Escalate as required to maintain consistently acceptable service levels
• Support procurement emergency response for unplanned outages or other emergencies, e.g. severe weather event response

Min. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SAP ERP system for procurement processes
• Experience using Ariba is preferred but not required
• Experience with creating RFx, PO's, Contracts and SOW (SAP Ariba, SAP ECC)
• 2-3 years of chemical / engineering or related industry experience is desirable
