Job description


Tacoma Power's Power Shared Services division is looking for a Power Strategy & Performance Manager to manage Tacoma Power's Strategy and Performance Management group. In this role you will be responsible for developing, promoting, and leading Power's complex utility-wide strategy management system, communicating the principles, strategy and vision of the utility's leadership team, and leading efforts to achieve organizational efficiencies across Tacoma Power. This position will also oversee strategic performance management and other organizational efficiency efforts. This role provides direction and guidance about Power utility strategy; has a high degree of impact, decision making authority and political risk; and collaborates with senior leaders and staff in each impacted business unit.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Facilitate and coordinate the design and implementation of Tacoma Power's strategy for Tacoma Power's executive team as well as for six distinct Power Sections and support units of multiple organizational layers within the utility.
  • Contribute and manage the implementation of a technology platform that can effectively and efficiently support Tacoma Power's strategic planning process.
  • Facilitate the creation of strategic measures and oversee the building of visualizations that represent the progress made in achieving Tacoma Power's strategy.
  • Manage the portfolio of Tacoma Power Strategic Initiatives. Supporting execution of corporate and business unit strategies, including performance reporting, business case analysis and review, allocation of resources and alignment with vision of Tacoma Power's Senior Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate and coordinate organizational efficiency improvement processes throughout Tacoma Power.
  • Manage, coordinate, and monitor budget development and procurement for Power Strategy, including expenditures and managing consultants.
  • Bachelor's degree public or business administration or directly related field
  • 5 years of progressively responsible and/or program coordination/management and/or analytical work in area related to assignment including 1 year prior at senior, lead and/or supervisory level
