Job description Store Manager

We are looking to grow our staff with dynamic individuals who love interacting with people and solving problems. We are hiring for full-time, long-term positions. If you are an outgoing person who loves helping others, we would love to meet, and see if we are a good fit for each other.
The Store Manager performs a variety of duties related to customer satisfaction, sales, and customer service in compliance with company procedures and policies under the direction of the Owners. They assist in the resolution of routine customer problems and all issues customers may have with the company, its products, or services. They will also work with our Inventory Associate on Product Management and Procurement, managing the ordering and merchandising process.
The Store Manager supports the development and motivation of the sales team by combining effective communication skills with leadership qualities while providing efficient administrative support to ensure that the store achieves its set goals. Job duties include working the sales floor and directly assisting customers, and carrying out the implementation and coordination of promotional strategies via the sales associates.
The successful candidate will have previous retail experience with a long-term experience of achieving sales using the consultative sale techniques and a committed and flexible approach to work.
Along with athletic-style shoes, we offer dress/work categories, as well as top line apparel. Shoe knowledge is not required. We are happy to train you with all the product knowledge you will need. There are also many opportunities to train and learn about products and techniques with experts in the field.
Duties

The duties and responsibilities which the Sales Manager is expected to perform in carrying out their job are as follows:
  • Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience through team member interaction and store presentation
  • Communicate effectively and be an ambassador of company values to customers and team members
  • Individual contributor that achieves a high level of direct sales performance
  • Work with the Inventory Associate to put together orders for regular fill-ins and preseason orders
  • Work through customer complaints or sales-staff performance issues to positive resolution
  • Management and training of employees in maximizing sales, and performing daily tasks
  • Develop, train, and schedule employees. Motivate sales team by conducting daily sales observations, weekly report card sessions and weekly sales meetings
  • Maintain knowledge of new products and research
  • Represent company in areas of public relations like trade shows and social media
  • Execution of company merchandising and oversee preparation of displays, merchandise, and presentations
  • Coordinate the flow of goods from the stock room to the sales floor, and do merchandise replenishment
  • Assist the team in maintaining housekeeping standards and the stores visual objectives by straightening merchandise and assisting in fixture and floor changes
  • Oversee and ensure compliance of staff with established company policies


Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Below are specific abilities, knowledge, and skills required of the Store Manager:
  • 4+ years of retail sales experience
  • 4+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • A passion to work with customers, drive business success, and foster a positive company culture
  • Strong communication skills and be willing to interact with a wide variety of clientele. You will also need the patience and tact to handle customer complaints and employee problems.
  • Possess strong leadership capabilities. For instance, you must be able to keep employees motivated, maintain self-discipline to complete your own projects, and work with your team to create a positive retail environment.
  • Availability to work at any time of the day and at the hours necessary to open and close the store, which may include holidays and weekends
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and apply new skills, and to train and develop staff
  • Must be able to perform physical activities on the job, which include kneeling, lifting, bending, carrying, walking, climbing and/or reaching on a frequent basis
  • Ability to be on your feet most of the day, or moving on the sales floor or stock room
Employment begins with an initial 4-week probation period, during which time we will assess the commitment to product learning and customer service.
