Primary Purpose of Position The Budget Manager handles the fiscal component of the Evans-Allen Agricultural Research Grant Program, which consists of over 30 research projects funded at approximately $16M in federal and state appropriations.
The Budget Manager works with the Research Director and the Associate Dean for Research to ensure that adequate funds are provided to CAES researchers to carry out the objectives of their research projects and that funds are spent appropriately per USDA-NIFA and State guidelines.

The Office of Agricultural Research is a unit within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences that is responsible for leading research efforts of the College.
The Office has two major responsibilities: managing the Evans-Allen Agricultural Research Program (ARP), a government formula-based research grant program; and obtaining competitive funding to support the program's growth and development.

Requires a master's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field and three years' experience in budget analysis and business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., bachelor's degree in business and at least five years of related experience).
Requires working knowledge of state and federal guidelines relative to grants management and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include spreadsheet development using macro functions and data analysis tools.
