Key Accountabilities – Safety, Health, Environment & Security:
- Ensure the plant work practices and environment comply with company SH&E and regulatory authority standards.
- Participate in SH&E monthly meetings & Toolbox talks.
- Provide leadership and coaching to employees to ensure SH&E plans and standards are met and plant operations are managed safely.
- Implement SH&E Model Procedures including a particular focus on the Core Procedures.
- Ensure plant and equipment is in good order by regular inspections and site audits.
- Create a positive SH&E culture by encouraging employees to participate in safety programs including JSERA’s, JCC”s, and promote safe work practices.
Managerial responsibilities:
- Management/Operating Cost and Expense Management.
- Staff Management, development & motivation.
- Networking (internal and external).
- Problem solving.
- Planning.
- Understanding of SH&E principles and management.
- Understanding and sensitive management of commercial and personal information.
- Knowledge of staff employment/dismissal procedures and the employee handbook.
- Strong leadership.
- Company representative, ability to communicate effectively over the phone, face to face & in writing.
Critical Experience and Qualifications Skills:
- Logistics / planning.
- Manufacturing industry experience with multi-product steel.
- Experience having managed a manufacturing site before.
- Ability to coordinate and maintain plant clerical work including order taking, raw material control, and purchasing.
- Proven competency in Operations Supervisor roles including strong people management and communication skills.
- Cost Management
- Computer Applications basic skills.
- Leadership Skills.
- Strong mechanical competencies.
- Strong maintenance background
Education/Experience:
- Staff Management, development & motivation.
- BA/BS degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Management/Operating Cost and Expense Management.
- Networking (internal and external).
- Problem solving.
- Planning.
- Understanding of SH&E principles and management.
