• Provider works independently in Orthopedic clinic and supports surgeon as first assistant in the OR 
• Works with practice PA team to ensure clinics and providers are covered 

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

 

Required Credential(s)

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA 
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date  
• Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date 
• Ability to do independent physician exams, interpret x-rays, and conduct minor procedures in the office and OR 

 

Preferred Credential(s)

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• 1-2 years of recent and relevant experience as a PA Orthopedic Surgery; inpatient, outpatient and 1st Assist/OR

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program 
• Master's degree preferred
