- Provides inpatient medical care, with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff; e.g.: Patient history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses and instituting treatment plans
- Provides inpatient consultation on internal medicine conditions, and may unction as a critical team member on the hospital code team
- In conjunction with the supervising physician conducts admission evaluations and assessments and provides inpatient medical coverage for community physicians as necessary
- May be required to take call. Specific procedures within the Department of Medicine are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires Master's Degree in Nursing; Licensure as Certified Nurse Practitioner; Licensure as a Registered Nurse; and BCLS Certification -OR- Requires a bachelor's degree; Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program; Licensure as a Physician Assistant
- BCLS Certification
- ATLS/PALS
- Experience working as an APP in Orthopedics/ Orthopedic Surgery for at least two years is preferred.
- First assist experience in OR
- ACLS/BLS required
