- The position includes the need to supervise, teach, and guide other clinician team members/Residents to provide Infectious Disease specialty care to patients.
- Duties include the management of the team members and patient service.
- Prior experience either working directly as an Infectious Disease consultant on the inpatient ID consult service, or, experience working as the primary provider in the Medical ICU strongly preferred.
- Seeking a highly motivated, dedicated team player to join our Infectious Disease team.
- Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
- Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs.
- Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelors Degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program -OR- Requires master's degree in nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current ACLS or BLS as required.
- Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
- Several years of inpatient Internal Medicine experience is strongly preferred.
- Infectious Disease inpatient clinical experience would be a strong asset, but not required.
