What you’ll be doing:
You will maintain and process the daily activities and transactions of the Accounting Department related to Payroll (PR) for Pacific Retirement Services (PRS), it affiliates and managed companies.

How you’ll do it:
- Demonstrate that Pacific Retirement Services’ (PRS) Core Values—excellence, innovation, integrity, stewardship, compassion, and collaboration—are ingrained into all aspects of your role.
- Complete all tasks of a Payroll Specialist I.
- Provide backup for central office payroll. Provide support to PRS/PRSMI in the absence of payroll manager.
- Complete daily reports and monthly/quarterly/annual checklists.
- Upload garnishments and miscellaneous unemployment and tax paperwork to ADP.
- Test and document changes to system updates and educate supported communities.
- Train all new team members on payroll and payroll applications.
- Participate in process documentation and collaboration to improve payroll education and compliance.
- Review new hire set up as it relates to wages, position and benefit eligibility.
- Process off-cycle checks, as needed, for final pays, missed bonuses and missed hours. Maintain files for off-cycle checks and save to check register folder for reconciliation purposes. Record off cycle checks on bank registers.
- Complete payroll for PRS/PRSMI, which includes payroll and post payroll checklists.
- Create Manual Year End Bonus and EAF payroll.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and work with community HR to resolve employee questions.
- Maintain appropriate filing system for internal control and external audit purposes.
- Participate in system projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you:
- Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping practices and procedures.
- Five (5) years’ experience processing payroll.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, especially MS Excel and accounting systems.
