Sir Lines-A-Lot provides pavement markings on roads and parking lots throughout Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin. This position is in person with home base at either our Edina or Maple Lake or St. Michael office with travel between the offices.
This position reports to the Controller and is primarily responsible for assisting in weekly payroll, certified payroll processing and reporting, and HR support. It requires tracking of payroll details to ensure employees are paid correctly each week, generating and validating certified payroll reports, and supporting HR functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the timely completion of weekly payroll for approximately 150+ employees
- Ensure copies of all payroll reports and backup for payroll are available and accurate
- Maintain the employee benefit tracking spreadsheet
- Determine calculation of PW-COP employer rate, updating as employee’s benefit elections change, and coordinate with the corporate office
- Enter prevailing wage schedules into the COINS system and identify the correct rate for each prevailing wage job
- Learn all methods of submitting certified payroll reports for all states (Aashtoware, WI CPR site, LCP Tracker, and MNDOT form via email), submit payroll reports weekly for the previous week’s work
- Maintain certified payroll tracking spreadsheet so the status of each report is known at any time
- Maintain all correspondences with employees, prime contractors and government contacts regarding payroll and certified payroll reports
- Monitor the payroll@linesalot.com email and respond to/resolve each item in a timely manner
- Resolve any discrepancies on payroll or certified payroll reports
- Support HR with onboarding of new hires
- Assist with EEO reporting guidelines
- Assist with recruiting efforts, yearly benefit enrollment and drug screening
- Learn all necessary functions to provide backup for the Payroll and HR Leads
- Other duties as assigned by management to support the business

Experience/Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in processing payroll
- Reliable transportation
- Regular attendance in the office required
- Previous position in a highway or construction office preferred
- 2+ years of experience with certified payroll reporting preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Job Type: Full-time, hourly, Mon-Fri, hours may vary with the seasonality of the business. Must be available to work outside of business hours and overtime if needed.
