Payroll Specialist

A Payroll Specialist is responsible for the complete administration of the payroll system, which involves handling complex payroll information, calculating wages, and deductions. Must stay up-to-date with tax regulations and employment laws to ensure compliance  Additionally, maintains employee records, monitoring PTO, and managing updates to employee status is required. Compliance with Documentation Retention policies is also vital to ensure the accuracy and currency of HR and employee information.  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum high school graduate or equivalent required.
* Minimum of (3) years prior payroll responsibility and experience.
* Possess CPP Certification or have the willingness to obtain within one year of employment.

PREFERRED:

* College graduate with an emphasis in Business or Human Resources
* Human Resource experience

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:      

* Advanced knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and deductions.
* Understand FLSA and FMLA
* Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Experience with HR and payroll software programs,
* Year-end W-2, 1095-C forms, and ACA Annual Lookback
* Advanced mathematical skills
* Knowledge and ability of various administrative clerical duties.

Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities are essential.  Exceptional interpersonal skills, tactfulness, courtesy, and a positive approach are required.
