Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll/Benefits Specialist will perform general accounting functions specific to payroll, retirement accounting, leave accounting and health benefits; analyze payroll data for compliance with state and federal mandates; accurately interpret and apply state and federal laws, education code, board policy and bargaining unit agreements; comply with various retirement system regulations; handle payroll related inquiries; analyze payroll related data from a variety of sources; do related work as required.
