Our client is seeking a payroll consultant to be an integral member of the payroll team for a long-term assignment. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years' experience in payroll processing (including experience with ADP Enterprise), focused on ensuring compliance with laws and policies, resolving issues promptly, and improving processes for efficiency— you're the go-to person for anything payroll-related. The list of skills required reads like a payroll superhero's toolkit. From FLSA calculations to handling complex projects like Historical Timecard Edits and Meal Period calculations, you will be a critical member of the payroll department. Your analytical skills, Excel skills, and ability to handle 401(k), 403(b) plans showcase your comprehensive understanding of payroll-related activities.
A self-starter, you not only lead but also anticipate and manage risks effectively. Attending HR-PR-IS Governance Meetings to represent Payroll emphasizes your collaborative spirit. And let's not forget your knack for multitasking—balancing urgent duties during training or absences and processing payroll across different timelines. Excellent written and oral communication skills are highly valued in cross-functional messaging, audits and RFI reporting. The day-to-day includes:
• Drive project completion: FLSA - Historical Timecard Edits, Meal Period and Rest Break Premium calculations, CA Flat Sum Bonus calculations – look back and look forward, Secure Act – 403(b)
• Assist with Payroll Balancing
• Monitor and assist with 3-day resolution for payroll email alias/JIRA help tickets
• Attend Employee Governance Meetings and represent Payroll department
• Process Manual Checks
• Review and Monitor ADP Smart Compliance Weekly and resolve issues
• Cover urgent duties for Payroll Processors during Training or Absences
• Assist payroll processing, including compliance with pay practices, settlement of taxes, and deductions
• Assist with GL related inquiries
• Responsible for Payroll Reporting for Audits and RFI's
• 10+ years of Payroll experience in a large employer environment
• Hands-on experience with Payroll, Time, and Attendance (Payroll, operations, benefits, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies
• Ensure data accuracy and process integrity
• Quickly resolve issues when they arise; address the root cause and recommend mitigation plans
• Experience in providing necessary inputs for configuration as requested/required to Payroll Vendor
• Improved payroll processes for increased efficiency and automation
• Advanced understanding of LOA's and integration of pay
• Demonstrated ability to document and improve operational processes
• Complex Payroll processes and systems experience, including wage and hour issues
• Highly proficient in FLSA calculations
• Anticipate, assess, and manage issues and risks
• Advanced Excel skills to build complex logic and calculations to derive pay, supporting operational requirements
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Experience with 401(k), 403(b) plans
