Salary: Salary Schedule 6A, Range 24, $26.58 - $39.28 per hour, as of July 1, 2023. Placement dependent on experience. Annual stipend pay: Associate's $250.00, Bachelor's $400, Master's $750, or Doctorate $1,000 (Once permanent, then prorated the first year).

Under general supervision of the Director - Payroll Operations, the Senior Payroll/Benefits Specialist will perform complex accounting functions specific to payroll, retirement, and leave accounting; analyze payroll data for compliance with state and federal mandates; accurately interpret and apply state and federal laws, education code, board policy and bargaining unit agreements; comply with various retirement system regulations; handle payroll related inquires; design, implement and maintain a variety of complex financial and statistical spreadsheets; analyze payroll related data; and suggest improvement for operations in the groups where they work.
