The primary payroll function is the calculation of employee paychecks, employee time cards, requests FMLA or personal leaves, as well as other factors essential to accurate payroll standards and procedures. This role will also support the Payroll and Benefit Administrator and must have a strong understanding and knowledge of standard payroll practices and procedures to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll. This position will serve as the backup to the payroll administrator and will run payroll processing when required. This role will also assist with presentations during orientation sessions, explaining to new workers what benefits the company offers and when their benefits become effective. They will answer employee questions on benefits as necessary. Candidate must possesses a sense of urgency and persistence and is willing to develop an understanding of CHCPs needs and challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support administrator with biweekly payroll for multi-state exempt and non-exempt employees
- Assists HR with the onboarding process effectively with the highest level of accuracy and consistency to meet internal and external customer expectations in accordance with Federal, State, Agency, and EEOC requirements.
- Assists in managing assigned components of the new hire process including processing of applications, on-boarding invitations, eVerify entries, background checks, timely completion of offer letters to include new employee orientation date, and status notifications to hiring authorities.
- Assists in ensuring all applicable new hire employment forms received and reviewed for thoroughness and accuracy. Ensures paperwork is in compliance with company policies and procedures, including the employment authorization process.
- Assists employees with ADP WFN system questions and access/login information
- Must be a highly organized, motivated and a self-starter with the ability to multi task in a high-paced environment.
- Strong Data Entry skills Required
- Administer and manage employee benefits plan and schedule enrollment.
- Develop employee benefit procedures and oversee maintenance of employee benefits records
- Responds to employee questions regarding health insurance benefits and assists with resolving claims
