Payroll Clerk

Responsibilities for Payroll Clerk:

• Basic time keeping and payroll functions
• Process bi-weekly payrolls
• Process termination and other out of cycle payroll processing
• Answering employees’ questions or concerns regarding payroll and being able to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Work in a team environment to ensure accuracy of all payroll data
• Assist in the onboarding process for new hires
• Maintain professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information
• Frequent data entry tasks
• Schedule tasks and project deadlines
• General office tasks - answer phones and emails
• Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned

Skills Required:

• High School Graduate and 2 years experience in an office environment
• Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant
• Experience working with Paychex or any other payroll systems a plus
• High proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word)
• Candidate must have the ability to work independently, prioritize, attention to detail, problem solving skills and multi-task while on deadline
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
