Responsibilities for Payroll Clerk:
- Basic time keeping and payroll functions
- Process bi-weekly payrolls
- Process termination and other out of cycle payroll processing
- Answering employees’ questions or concerns regarding payroll and being able to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Work in a team environment to ensure accuracy of all payroll data
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires
- Maintain professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information
- Frequent data entry tasks
- Schedule tasks and project deadlines
- General office tasks - answer phones and emails
- Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
Skills Required:
- High School Graduate and 2 years experience in an office environment
- Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant
- Experience working with Paychex or any other payroll systems a plus
- High proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word)
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently, prioritize, attention to detail, problem solving skills and multi-task while on deadline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
