As a Classified Civil Service Coordinator reporting to the HR Recruitment Manager, you will oversee all aspects of Classified Civil service staff operations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Servers as primary point-person for all Classified and Managerial Civil Service inquiries.
- Generates and processes all actions related to classified and managerial civil service including appointments, reappointments, appointments with permanency, promotions, level changes, and terminations.
- Ensures adherence to and compliance with various civil service contractual rules and regulations.
- Organize and attend Classified Civil Service Hiring Pools and manage onboarding; including conditional offers, ensures completion and compliance of onboarding packages, initiate payroll entry.
- Ensures new hires complete fingerprinting and performs background check.
- Responsible for CUNYFirst data entries for civil service and classified managerial staff.
- Maintains personnel files for Classified Civil service staff.
- Manage Classified Civil Service performance evaluations spreadsheet and monthly distribution, and ensures evaluations are completed for civil service staff.
- Manage and updates reports, tracking tools and performs data entry in HRIS, related to Classified Civil service and managerial staff.
- May supervise support staff.
- Responsible for the distribution of all communications, policy updates and announcements from UHR for Classified Civil service and managerial staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CUNY Civil Service White Collar and Blue-Collar contracts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interpret regulations and communicate this information to employees.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, be detail oriented, and have strong organizational skills.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.
- Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
- Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
- Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
- Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
- Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$62,689 - $68,245; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
