POSITION SUMMARY
Using knowledge of payroll functions, wage and hour compliance, and internal controls, this full-time, individual contributor role will prepare and review company payrolls to ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with Company policies and government regulations.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process multistate payrolls for one or more of the Company’s brands.
• Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy, communicate with managers when corrections are needed, all while ensuring the timely processing of the payroll.
• Make certain the computing, withholding, and/or deductions associated with pay is done consistent with local/state/federal regulations and Company policies.
• Review the payrolls prepared by other team members for accuracy prior to submission.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and monthly payroll reports.
• Act as liaison with interdepartmental staff to resolve payroll issues and inquiries.
• Manage and maintain the multi-state payroll tax accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
• Extensive knowledge of payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, payroll taxes, and wage and hour compliance in a multi-state environment.
• Three to five years of related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage work processes in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment.
• Ability to work and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both in writing and verbally
• Experience using ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite at a Company location.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work at a desk and spend extended periods of time looking at a computer screen.
• Ability to maintain focus for prolonged periods of time.
