Position Overview:
In collaboration with the HRIS & Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll and special check runs for approximately 450-500 union and non-union employees who work in OR and WA.
Schedule: Monday - Friday / Hourly / 40 hours per week (Flexible with scheduled hours).
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the HRIS & Payroll Manager to process paychecks, ensuring that employees are paid timely and correctly.
- Process payroll biweekly, reviewing timecards for accuracy.
- Prepare relevant weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Performs the day-to-day customer service function by answering and responding to internal and external employee requests and questions timely.
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll.
- Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
- Process and monitor garnishment orders.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Supervision Received:
This position will receive direction, supervision, and regular performance evaluations from for HRIS & Payroll Manager.
Supervision Exercised:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Operating in an open office environment, this position is full-time, expected to work 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, although there is some flexibility regarding the start time. Availability during common business hours is a must while outside normal operating hours may be required on occasion.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or the equivalent required, related college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years proven payroll experience.
• Knowledge of tax and wage law, OR and WA law a must.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
• Familiarity with HRIS and Payroll systems (preferably Paycom).
• Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Must manage confidential information using discretion and judgement.
