Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for multiple dealerships and up to 600 commissioned, hourly, and salaried employees. Your main tasks will include balancing payroll accounts, resolving discrepancies, processing benefit payments, and doing general accounting duties. Additionally, you will handle accounts administration tasks such as reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments to external partners, and maintaining accurate records. A strong attention to detail, a background in accounting, and familiarity with payroll compliance are essential to excel in this role. Another aspect of the payroll function is communicating effectively with employees, managers, and team members.
This position is an hourly role with the opportunity to make $24.00 to $26.00 per hour.
Who You Are:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Payroll and accounting experience: You have at least 2 years of experience in payroll and accounting, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Strong accounting background: You possess solid accounting skills and are familiar with payroll compliance requirements.
- HRIS/Payroll system experience: Prior experience working with an HRIS/Payroll system will be advantageous.
- Resourceful problem-solver: You have a resourceful and proactive approach to problem-solving, making decisions confidently.
- Positive attitude and teamwork: You maintain a positive attitude while working collaboratively with your team members but can also work independently when needed.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills: Your exceptional time management and organizational abilities enable you to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle pressure: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities, and remain optimistic when under pressure to meet payroll deadlines.
- Accountability and communication: You hold yourself and your team members accountable while fostering a supportive and collaborative approach. Your strong communication skills ensure effective and efficient information exchange.
- Compliance-oriented: You have a track record of efficiently and compliantly handling operational, accounting, and payroll processes.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment: Your practical critical thinking skills enable you to exercise sound judgment, even in challenging situations.
Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- 2+ years of accounting or high-volume payroll experience
- Experience in using Excel and an HRIS system
- At least 18 years of age
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check
