Payroll Administrator

Overview:

Our Human Resources team is growing! We're adding a Payroll Administrator to our Des Moines team.  This role will be responsible for the accurate preparation, calculation, processing, and reconciliation of multi-state payroll and the administration of the payroll system. This position provides a high level of customer service, while ensuring data integrity. As part of the Total Rewards team, this position is a key player in supporting Kemin's people first culture.

This is an onsite position located at our global headquarters in Des Moines, IA.  

 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with the UKG and Dimensions platforms.  Additionally, they will approach the role with a goal of creating the best possible employee experience driving change when needed, and collaborating with team members across Kemin.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accurate calculation, processing and reconciliation of bi-weekly, multi-state payrolls.
• Calculate and process incentives, bonus, commissions, and longevity payments.
• Review deductions including benefits and garnishments; perform audits to verify reported payroll hours, time sheets, and other information to reconcile and resolve any discrepancies.
• Review and verify timekeeping records comply with company policy and coordinate with managers to make corrections as needed.
• Develop schedule templates, approval privileges, maintain holiday schedules, review import records etc,
• Administration of time management system including configuration and testing of policies and rules. Train managers and employees on timekeeping system and payroll processes.
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates (new hires, terminations, job title changes, pay rate changes).
• Responsible for ensuring integrity of data recorded in the payroll and benefits system.
• Maintain accurate payroll records. Identifies and resolves issues and coordinates resolution with HRBP's.
• Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance usage of HR technologies.
• Generate reports from payroll system.
• Provide general Human Resources support.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree and 2+ years experience
• Experience must include full process payroll, preferably with multi-state processing
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and extreme discretion
• Self starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Fluent in English
