Our Blythewood manufacturing facility has about 250 employees operating over two shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the plant’s HR Manager, the Payroll/HR Administrator is responsible for completing weekly and semimonthly payroll for two manufacturing plants, as well as assisting the HR Manager in Human Resources at the Blythewood, SC manufacturing plant. The Payroll/HR Administrator will ensure the uniform and equitable application of organization policies and procedures, as applied to payroll and HR administration. This position will participate in company-wide initiatives, including global initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and manage all aspects of payroll for two manufacturing plants.
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely payroll records and reports. Communicate with plant supervisors for correction of payroll errors or missed punches.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee questions about payroll and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including tax and labor laws.
- Work with ADP to resolve payroll issues.
- Process W4s and other tax related documents.
- File reports for ACA and other reporting agencies as required.
- Maintain a presence on the plant floor and answer employee inquiries.
- Assist the HR Manager with human resources related tasks and projects.
- Keep up to date with changes in payroll regulations and adjust payroll systems and processes accordingly.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits.
- Work on teams for various projects to support the strategic initiatives of the company.
- Promote a positive work environment by assisting employees with HR related issues and providing supportive communication.
- Assist with open enrollment and benefits administration for the plant.
- Participate in new hire orientation and other plant-wide initiatives.
- Support employee engagement with plant activities and employee recognition.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Provide reports to accounting as required.
- Post payroll to the accounting systems.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience with ADP Workforce now is strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (proficiency in Excel required).
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5-7 years of payroll/human resources experience required.
- HR/Payroll experience in manufacturing a plus.
- Payroll certification a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to regularly walk the plant floor and speak with employees.
