The Payroll Administrator is responsible for preparing, processing, and distributing thousands of employee paychecks each week. Issues payments, including the submission of the direct deposit file to the bank, printing paychecks, paying garnishment vendors, paying taxes, and paying other employe related vendors. Effectively communicates any updates, discrepancies, and other issues with the weekly payroll to the Payroll Clerks.
Maintains and updates union rate sheets and is responsible for preparing monthly union reports. Collaborates with the human resource department to maintain employee data including system union rates. Helps maintain employee records by processing changes to employee withholdings, direct deposits, garnishments, 401k deductions, and other employee related deductions and liabilities.
Provides professional and courteous customer service to all employees, coworkers, and outside vendors by answering communications in a timely manner. Assists employees with any record changes or other payroll inquires. Is cross trained in all aspects of the payroll department. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Essential Functions
- Collect and review timesheets.
- Process weekly payroll.
- Reconcile and review weekly payroll.
- Prepare and process payroll taxes for Federal and multiple States.
- Issue paychecks.
- Distribute paychecks and paystubs.
- Issue and distribute payroll vendor payments.
- Submit direct deposit files to the bank.
- Maintain and update union rate sheets.
- Prepare monthly union reports.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel records.
- Process employee changes.
- Assist in responding to employees, co-workers, and outside vendors.
- Cross trained in all aspects of the payroll department.
- Keep payroll information confidential.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain an organized work environment.
- Communicate payroll challenges to supervisor.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- College degree required.
- Payroll experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good time management and organization skills.
- Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Positive proactive attitude.
