Payroll Accountant

A large but growing company (over 9,000 employees) with headquarters in Pittsburgh is searching for a Payroll Accountant to join their expanding team.

Candidates with strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment would be ideal.

The top skills/duties for this role include:

• Prepare and process payroll for salary, weekly and biweekly employees.
• Determine and correct out-of-balance conditions to ensure accurate payroll entries.
• Process Multi-State, Union, Hourly and Salary payroll utilizing ADP software.
• Communication with company offices and divisions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of payroll.
• Input time, material and expenses into appropriate software system.
• Process bank transactions, Paycard funding and direct deposit reversals.
• Proactively research and resolve issues that arrive by reviewing time-cards, communicating with employees and following up with specific offices.
• Analyze and reconcile payroll reports and work with accounting department to resolve out-of-balance reconciliations.

The Payroll team works in a team environment and help each other as needed.

This position will be a hybrid (office/home) role, if desired, once the process is understood.

Requirements

• 1 - 5 years experience processing payroll for hourly employees.
• Experience with processing multi-state payroll.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills dealing with internal and external customers.
• ADP or Kronos experience highly desirable.
