Position Overview:
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing mise-en-place and production items for a variety of pastry menu items, including pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods. They ensure the quality and preparation of all components and accompaniments for these dishes.

Qualifications:
- 1 year of kitchen preparation and cooking experience in an upscale restaurant.
- 1-2 years of experience in high-volume or fine dining pastry kitchens.
- Effective communication with management and staff.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in various cooking styles, methods, techniques, and industry trends.
- Ability to organize prep items from different areas and outlets.
- Adherence to sanitation procedures and organization of work areas.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Chefs to review assignments, anticipated business levels, and important job-related information.
- Plan, prep, and prepare high-quality pastry items, including pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, and creams.
- Follow recipes and yield guides while maintaining department standards.
- Monitor inventory of prepared food items to minimize waste and manage 86’s.
- Maintain controls to achieve forecasted food cost.
- Work efficiently with respect for quality ingredients and careful attention to preparation.
- Adhere to all health code regulations and standards.
- Manage food and supply inventory and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
