The Parking Enforcement Officer patrols campus including College-owned parking areas to issue parking citations for vehicles in violation of College parking regulations.
- Writes and issues citations or warnings to owners of vehicles and other implements of transportation and submits them to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Locates lost, stolen and counterfeit permits and takes necessary enforcement action.
- Checks assigned areas for damaged or missing property and reports any problems to the immediate supervisor via a two-way radio.
- Works closely with the Parking and Transportation Specialist regarding vehicles to be towed for violations of college policy.
- Completes necessary reports and forms related to the duties and responsibilities.
- Assists motorists periodically with vehicle lock-outs and battery jumps.
- Assists police and security officers with traffic and parking details in addition to safety related requests.
- Provides directions or other information upon request of faculty, staff, students or visitors.
- Assists Public Safety Director, Chief and Sergeants as needed.
- High School diploma or GED required; experience in parking and traffic enforcement preferred; De-escalation training is a plus.
- Ability to deal with the public in a fair, polite and tactful manner.
- Ability in carrying out clear, concise, written and verbal direction.
- Must possess a valid PA driver’s license to operate a college motor vehicle.
- Must possess skill in carrying out verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of general parking practices and procedures.
- Proficient with Google Workspace, Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Access, Banner and other institutional equipment or software systems.
- Superior organization and multitasking skills; strong attention to detail and exceptional follow-up and follow-through; good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess independent judgment and initiative within the processes and procedures required by the Public Safety Department.
- Ability to accept flexible work hours, weekend or other atypical schedules is preferred.
