West Chester University of Pennsylvania's Public Safety Department invites applicants for a full time Parking Enforcement Officer position. This position is responsible for maintaining security patrol of the University's parking lots and parking structures, enforcing all University motor vehicle regulations, working special events, aiding with motorist and escorts for persons with special needs. The position is responsible for writing and distributing parking tickets to those that violate the University parking regulations. Parking Enforcement Officers are required to check the Public Safety Bulletin board daily to keep apprised of special circumstances. This position requires the ability to provide foot patrol for extended periods of time in varying climatic conditions.
This position is deemed "essential" and must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the university due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.
Minimum Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma
- A valid driver's license
- Clean Criminal History
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and electronic handheld devices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the parking, security or law enforcement fields
- Experience working in a campus community or similar environment; parking; crowd control
- Experience in customer service
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work under varying climatic conditions
- Ability to remain alert and to act quickly and calmly in emergencies
