Job Summary and QualificationsThe Operations Specialist will assist with the re-profiling of items, assisting in re-profiling product slotting to improve the efficiency of the operations, sets up new items into WMS, creates and edits storage rules, enters weight tolerances for quality control of raw material picking and other warehousing duties as directed. Runs reports and analyzes the options available to enhance the processes and make improvements. Reports findings and provides recommendations to facilitate the receiving and warehousing functions. Significant utilization of computers will apply. Handles shipping discrepancies on a daily basis, manages overages, shortages and damages. Works with Quality, accounts payable, and customer service to ensure all OS&D’s are completed within vendor return timelines.
- Manages daily shipping discrepancies to include shortages, overages, damages, and miss ships.
- OS&D’s are reported to the vendor within one business day, and communication with the vendor must be clear to ensure billing and credits are applied appropriately.
- New items are set up within WMS, to include volumetric, packaging strings, and scanning capability
- Collaborates with accounts payable, vendors, and customer service to ensure invoices are promptly paid by managing open PO’s, open issues, and any other applicable reports such as discount reports.
- Processes and sets up items with WMS to ensure items are selectable in the proper unit of measure, items are scannable, GTIN’s are entered in the WMS to capture lot and expires dates and that material pickers/handlers can easily identify items
- Creates and manages materials that are pick hazards which have been identified within by Operations or Quality departments through quality score carding and material picking errors
- Works closely with Inbound and Outbound operations on item/inventory issues needed to maximize efficiency in warehouse operations
- Maintains a clean working environment, keeping trash off the floor, all supplies and storages areas are clearly identified using lean tools such as 5S to maximize warehouse efficiencies and safety
- Follows all quality cGMP, good manufacturing practices
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Graduate/Equivalent Required
- Bachelor's degree Preferred
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a leadership role Preferred
