Job Title: Operations Manager - Agriculture Location: West Iowa

Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and hands-on individual to join our team as an Operations Manager in the field. As an Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely completion of field services in Central Iowa. This position involves overseeing a full-time staff of 2-3 employees and taking charge of hiring, training, and supervising a seasonal staff of 7-8 individuals. The ideal candidate will be a team leader, taking ownership of tasks and spending approximately 50% of their time in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Field Service Management: Ensure the timely and efficient completion of field services in Central Iowa, actively participating in field operations.
• Team Leadership: Oversee and lead a full-time staff of 2-3 employees, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Seasonal Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and actively supervise a seasonal staff of 7-8 individuals during peak agricultural seasons.
• Ownership and Accountability: Take ownership of projects and tasks, ensuring successful execution and meeting established standards.
• Field Presence: Spend approximately 50% of working hours in the field, actively participating in operations, and providing hands-on leadership.
• Work Planning: Develop and implement work plans, schedules, and procedures to optimize operational efficiency.
• Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure services meet or exceed established standards.

Qualifications:

• Agriculture Background: Strong background in agriculture or a related field is required.
• Operations Management: Previous experience in operations management, preferably in the agriculture sector.
• Recruitment and Training: Experience in recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
• Hands-On Approach: Willingness to actively engage in fieldwork and lead by example.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in a dynamic environment.
