Job description

This position is assigned to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia. The incumbent serves as the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Operations Director of a medium installation. Responsible for assisting the MWR Director in leadership, direction, management, productivity and cost effectiveness. MWR is comprised of Community Recreation, Fitness, Sports, Aquatics, Digital Movie, Liberty and Navy Getaways. The Department provides a wide range of recreational and hospitality services.Qualifications:

Experience must demonstrate the following:

-Extensive knowledge of MWR mission, vision, functions.
-Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the MWR Director's philosophies, priorities, preferences, and objectives in order to conduct in-depth, comprehensive analysis relating to actions, projects, and programs; provide recommendations; and make decisions from an overall executive standpoint.
-Knowledge of the goals, principles and techniques of recreation program delivery.
-Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
-Ability to plan, conduct and document a variety of comprehensive studies and reports.
-Knowledge of MWR organizational structure and relationships, in order to support numerous management programs, and to integrate, fully coordinate, balance, and monitor a wide variety of complex projects, actions, and initiatives for the MWR Director.
-Ability to assess, coordinate, evaluate, and integrate the work of others into products that effectively reflect the MWR Director's position on a wide variety of management and mission-related issues.
-Knowledge of effective group relationships and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to deal with a variety of people in structured and unstructured situations.
-Ability to define, develop, discuss, and coordinate difficult problems, tactfully and with much flexibility.
-Skill in written and oral communication to provide information papers, documentation of analysis, reports, and correspondence, and to participate in briefings, conferences, and operational meetings.
