Tides of MindCounseling realizes that the strength of our practice is our exceptional staff. We seek an Operations Assistant/Billing and Collections Specialist (full-time) to support the providers and assist with office management. We are looking for someone who is friendly, builds excellent rapport with clients, is organized, can multi-task, and has experience in a medical/counseling setting. This is an on-site position at our Norwich, CT location.
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or higher
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of professional administrative procedures
- Strong computer and technology skills are required
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Beneficial Skills & Experience:
- Answering general calls (live reception) and emails about services and practice information; customer service and support
- Resolve front-line billing issues
- Participate in TOS Collections
- Assist with benefit verification and eligibility
- Provide coverage for Medication Admin, benefits specialist, and TOS specialists as needed
- Participate in primary care scheduling and benefit checks
- Authorization requests, tracking, and maintenance
- Client set up in EHR
- Complete in-house referrals and transfers (collect balances on accounts when needed)
- Assist with refill requests
- Assist with prior authorizations
- Projects as assigned by the Executive Director
