The Ultimate Reentry Opportunity Initiative’s (URO) mission is to eliminate system barriers to reentry, increase community safety and vibrancy by addressing the root challenges to a healthy reentry in Tompkins County. We do this work utilizing the Collective Impact Model approach to create and facilitate systemic change. This process requires engagement and interaction with all sectors impacting justice impacted folks such as housing, employment, transportation, health and well-being, education, and food security. The Ultimate Reentry Opportunity Initiative seeks to add an outgoing, self-motivated, enthusiastic, team-oriented, mission-driven person to fill the role of Operations and Administrative Manager. The Operations and Administrative Manager (OAM) will work closely with the program director to ensure seamless communication of programmatic Operations and ideas between the organization, our working group members, community stakeholders, and partners. The OAM will assist in coordinating our working group meetings and will record and disseminate meeting minutes to all participants of meetings. The OAM will coordinate organizational scheduling and assist the director in maintaining a sustainable schedule and organizational calendar. The OAM will follow up with organization members and stakeholders to track progress of collaborative initiatives and report back to the URO Director and all pertinent stakeholders.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain and organize organizational documents and files
- Maintain daily communication with program director
- Ensure program directives are disseminated to organization member, community partners and stakeholders as directed by the director
- Attend organizational meetings, take meeting minutes, and share minutes with all
relevant partners
- Check emails and respond as necessary
- Assist with coordinating staff and volunteers to aid with systemic change efforts
- Assist in fundraising activities
- Support the development of policy proposals and recommendations that work to improve the lives of justice system impacted folks
- Driving to Albany to meet with necessary assembly persons and or senators to share
policy recommendations that support best practices and research around reentry issues
- Updating website and social media post
- Coordinate the writing of op eds and press releases for events and activities that impact
the community
- Support URO Student employees and other staff by maintaining regular communication
and providing organizational updates as directed by the program director
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human health sciences, social sciences or other related fields or
two years of experience working with vulnerable populations
- Excellent writing and verbal skills
- Excellent Computer Skills
- Excellent Powerpoint and Presentation development skills
- 18 months of experience of administrative work
- 18 months experience working on Diversity Equity and Inclusion Projects
- 12 months experience working with social media and web page development
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work in person in Ithaca, NY
