Job purpose
The Receptionist is responsible for handling a variety of administrative support tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, receiving visitors, and answering program-specific questions.
Duties and responsibilities
Overall responsibility:
- Serve as an ambassador of JustHoop demonstrating our mission and values in a positive and professional manner and acting as a role model of the JustHoop Brand.
- Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner.
- Answer and direct emails in a polite and professional manner.
- Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have.
- Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
- Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of visitor requests and of calls received.
- Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
- Make sure the bathrooms are clean.
- Make sure the recovery area is organized.
- Pick up the gym between classes.
- Help the coaches with prep work. Manage opening and closing of facility as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience as a receptionist or in a related field.
- Maintain high energy and enthusiasm.
- High standard of ethics and integrity.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Patient and understanding.
- Excellent attendance.
- Some competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good time management skills.
- Experience with administrative and clerical procedures.
- Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required.
Working conditions
This position will work in an office environment.
Physical requirements
Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, large motor skills, ability to communicate.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important.
