We are seeking a Short-Term Temporary Customer Service Specialist I. The successful candidate will work in the largest park in the King County Park System. The dynamic park environment provides opportunities to interface with a diverse community, other Parks staff and visitors from all over Puget Sound. The primary function of this role is to provide information to customers of Marymoor Park and King County. The person in this role will also assist customers with parking pass sales, pet license sales, parking citation payments and facility and activity payments. As the successful candidate in this role, you will also support the Office Coordinator and other team members in ensuring smooth operations of the Marymoor Business Office. As an employee of King County, this position will also be exposed to other staff and opportunities in Parks and other departments.
The Marymoor Business Unit is the administrative workgroup tasked with providing customer service to park users and managing programs, partnerships and activities that enhance the general park experience for the community we serve. We are a revenue producing unit responsible for $1.8M through parking fees and special events.
At 640 acres, Marymoor Park is cherished by King County residents of all ages and interest for the myriad of year-round recreation opportunities it offers and its rich, natural setting in a highly populated area. Duration: This Short Term-Temporary (STT) position is year-round.Working up to 15 hours a week.
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email and in person to determine customer needs, provide accurate information and connect them with appropriate resources.
- Handle sensitive and potentially volatile customer interactions and take steps to resolve the situation.
- Utilize facility reservations software (ActiveNet) to process POS transactions and facility use payments.
- Manage assigned cash till and reconcile revenue daily. Produce reports for reconciliation and prepare bank deposit.
- Sell parking passes, process parking violations, produce violation letters, record and process all incoming mail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with proven record of interacting in an effective and positive manner with a diverse community.
- Skillful problem solver and ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to perform tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions or distractions.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to complete assignments within established timelines.

- Basic proficiency in databases - experience in ActiveNet desired.
- General knowledge of Marymoor Park and regional area is a plus!
Working Conditions:
- Work Location: Remote and Onsite - Marymoor Park, located at 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE in Redmond.
- Work Hours: This part-time position is seasonal, working up to 15-hours per week.
- FLSA Status: This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.
- Union Affiliation: This position is none represented.
