Job Description:
The Office of the Registrar is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our team. As an Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to students, while assisting with various administrative tasks related to college processes and policies. Your responsibilities will include processing changes of major and minors, inputting transfer credits for entering students, creating transfer credit equivalencies, and ensuring the accuracy of student records. The ideal candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality, work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, addressing inquiries related to college processes and policies.
- Process changes of major and minors accurately and in accordance with college guidelines.
- Input transfer credits for entering students into the student information system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Create and update transfer credit equivalencies based on established criteria and academic standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain the integrity and accuracy of student records.
Requirements:
- Maintains strict confidentiality of student records and sensitive information.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in all tasks.
- Takes initiative and follows directions from supervisors.
- Exhibits effective oral and written communication skills.
- Works well both independently and as a collaborative team player.
- Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing technology and software applications.
- Prioritizes tasks and manages time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Possesses creative problem-solving skills and a resourceful mindset.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an administrative or customer service role is a plus.
- Familiarity with college policies and procedures is desirable but not required.
- Proficiency in using computer applications and software, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude when dealing with students, faculty, and staff.

This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA.
