Job Summary
The Administrative Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for the College of Education (COE) Dean’s office and provides excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the office. In addition, the position will provide direct administrative and operational support for the office staff consisting of the Dean, Director of Operations, Teacher Licensure Official and the Communications and Events Coordinator. This position also provides intermittent administrative services to the Center for Educator Support as well as assists in facilitating the scholarship awarding process.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of English sufficient to perform the job duties described above, using reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Ability to use customer skills on the phone, in person and online to provide effective general and specialized office support (this requires common courtesy, tact, interest in positive problem solving, empathy, and the ability to organize ideas logically).
- Skill in math sufficient to calculate, review, and reconcile financial data and balance accounts.
- Skill in using business English grammar, spelling and punctuation to write and edit reports, letters and other documents.
- Knowledge of word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, charts, and graphs.
- One year experience in leadwork sufficient to provide office management for the College of Education Dean's Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Ability to analyze and make recommendations for new or revised administrative practices and procedures for smooth and efficient office operation.
- At least one year experience in higher education in an administrative setting.
Additional Requirements
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating in and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
